We are currently in the wasteland known as Missouri.
We managed 8 hours of driving yesterday before the Subaru overheated and we had to be towed, again, to a local Motel 8. Two hellish travel days of interrupted sleep, fast food and car trouble was taking its toll so I got on Lisa's trainer in the hotel room and rode easy for 30 minutes followed up with some core and stretching. I felt like a new person afterwards!
People around here feel bad for charging money for things. First, the hotel charged half the dog surcharge because they felt bad about asking for $20 total for the dogs. Next, the local BBQ place was out of some items we wanted so they gave us what they had left for only a few bucks since they felt bad they didn't have what we wanted and this morning the truck stop counter person didn't charge Lisa and Ginger for their coffees since it was 3 hours old. Its all very strange.
We got on the road early today after getting a solid few hours of sleep. Heading to the flatlands of Kansas!
