It's been a long time since I've played 15s rugby. About 22 months to be exact. I returned from my trip last year and decided to take a more well rounded approach to my life and put work (this was unavoidable since I was broke) and my non-rugby life in the forefront since they both took a backseat for over 10 years. I focused on working my tail off to pay off my trip and spent more quality time with friends and just being a bit more selfish with my time than before.
Well, the urge to slip on my boots and throw around that funny, oblong ball was too much to pass up and I found myself booking a flight to Nashville for Nash Bash with the idea that maybe they will need me to be a sub at some point in the weekend. If not, then it's a good time down there in Nashville and I get to hangout with my friends and get to know the new peeps. But now, I really hope they need me to play because the more I think about it, the more I want to go out there and play some devastatingly good rugby.
I'm not quite read to officially retire, but I do want to continue to play, even in a part-time capacity. Rugby was part of my routine for so long so it's a bit weird to be this far out of the loop. Wish me luck, I'm not getting any younger!
