The Name is Cheryl, Mrs. Fick If You're Nasty

Today Mama Fick (on the right, sister Tara in the middle) had to undergo some fairly complicated surgery on her throat. Years ago she battled thyroid cancer and won so we feared the worst when she was told a few weeks ago there was a tumor in her throat and it had to be removed. She opted for surgery right away instead of waiting for tests to come back because she and my Dad have a cruise to go on in October for their anniversary and nothing is going to get in her way!

My Dad finally called this afternoon and she made it through the four hour surgery just fine and the tumor was benign. Yay! She has one more test to come back and then she will officially be in the clear and she can concentrate on recovering and getting back into fighting form. I mean, she did have her neck cut open from ear to ear so I can imagine that will take some time to heal, but so far she is worried about keeping the scar covered when she is on the cruise ship. The woman has a one track mind :)

Please send Mama Fick your positive thoughts and well wishes for a speedy recovery because if she isn't happy, then the rest of us aren't happy. Seriously!
